Buyer Beware
How often do you see ads like the one below in your mail?
I get them at least once a month.
What do you do with them? I usually toss them in the trash. My guess is that my reaction is quite common.
Why?
For me, mostly skepticism. I’ve been around the block. There must be a catch.
Sure, there’s usually a catch. For this ad, I read the fine print. The key downsides:
· There’s no guarantee of savings
· The introductory fixed price is for two months, then prices are variable
· The future variable prices may be higher than your current supplier
“Buyer beware” is healthy skepticism. That tendency will most often protect you from getting a bad deal. But it shouldn’t paralyze you into inaction.
I can help.
When it comes to commercial electric and gas usage, frequently it’s much higher than residential consumption. If you ignore, or purposely reject, offers for potentially better deals for your home utilities, you may stand to lose. It could be a little or a lot. But if you ignore deals for your business, you could be losing a bundle.
You owe it to yourself and your business to save money on energy. It’s simple. It’s fast. And, there’s no cost to you.
